A fun and relaxing game
This is truly one of those
fun and relaxing games that's great to play after a hard day of work.
:-)
The game play is fairly straight forward, as you're given a
wide variety of farming missions to complete, ranging from cultivating
different crops to raising live stock. However, the game play is
entertaining, as you will frequently encounter many dynamic issues that
can ruin your ability to make money, such as unpredictable pests
infestations (that rapidly eat up your crops), to poachers snipping off
your farm animals, and out-of-state, hillbilly family that decides to
"show up" one day and move in with your family... Of course, they always
want free room-and-board, but best of all, you can always make them
work!
In this game, there's a constantly changing free market
that affects how much money that you can make from selling particular
crops and animal products. Of course, there's always some radical diet
trend that can greatly enhance or upset the crop or animal product
prices. You'll soon become familiar with the outspoken Bridget
(Hollywood star) that constantly promotes a vegetarian diet --she has a
bad habit of showing up just when the price of beef gets to the point
that you're about to become a luxurious, wealthy millionaire! Instead,
you'll find that the price of beef is now suddenly so low, that you'll
have to almost take out a loan from the bank, just so that you can make
payroll for your employees -- until the beef market can recover from her
"statements." ;-)
The game technically is in 3D, but since the
camera movement is limited, it's more like a 2D game (set at a 45 degree
angle). The game works glassy smooth on my system, which is a MacBook
Pro (4 GB of RAM), running Windows XP (via Apple Bootcamp).

Summary:
I have thoroughly enjoyed this game and for it's price, I
would certainly recommend it for kids and adults alike. It's good,
clean, family fun!
NOT what I expected
I was expecting something
like John Deere Drive Green. This game is little tiny tractors and
implements that you really don't drive. You just direct the
tractor/implement to the farm and watch it do it's thing. Very boring,
not at all what I expected from the description. I wasted my money on
this one.
The seller, however, did a good job getting the product
out to me - just in time for Christmas. Too bad the game sucked....
Fun for passing time - game play could be smoother
I enjoy this game -
especially for the price! There are some gameplay things that could be
improved - zooming out further, not having the camera jump around when
you select your employees, etc. But it's fun to 'play farmer' with if
that's what you are out to do.
