The Return of the Spider Robot
This is the sequel to Puppet
Show:Mystery of Joyville. The same detective has the task of finding out
why a young girl has fallen asleep and will not wake up. She's not the
only one, and though a puppetmaker and fortune teller are under
suspicion, anyone who played the first game may have another suspect in
mind.
Like the first game, there is a mixture of hidden object
scenes, mini puzzles and tasks to perform in the sequel. There was a
kind of hidden object scene that was unlike any I've ever seen,
containing a light chamber. Half of the hidden objects are searchable
when you flick the chamber's switch up, and the other half when the
switch is to the down position. The effect is pretty striking.
The
mini games are plentiful and there is a lot of variety. They were
fairly challenging, but not frustratingly hard.
The task parts of
the game are also good. I thought one where you have to feed nuts to a
robot fish was very clever. A door where the lock is two hands with
intertwined fingers is very cool.
The graphics in this game can
only be described as lush.
The first part of the game takes place
in a village, the latter half in a castle. I found the village part
slightly more interesting. There was also a little less puppetry in the
sequel than I would have liked, but that's just me.
Having played
many of these games now, it is becoming evident to me that games of
this quality are rare. I am definitely looking forward to the next
chapter of this game.
Well
Done!
Beautiful graphics and
fun-filled challenges make this puppet show as good as the first. Keeps
you thinking and leads you on a masterful chase. You'll spend time at
each seek-and-find site just looking at the lush surroundings. Love it!
