Happiness
I don't know what it says
about me that my heart did a little flip of happiness when I saw there
was a Fishdom 2 Game, but it did.
I've played all the other
Fishdom games, so what's new? You still get different themed tanks to
populate with fish and dress up with various decorations. It seemed to
me that they were more generous with the amount and variety of the
decorations provided. I wish there were more kinds of fish, but there's a
decent choice.
You still earn money to create your tanks by
playing the match 3 game, but they now give you a chance to earn extra
dollars by adding a hidden object game where you collect gems. Gems are
also occasionally scattered around the your tank to find.
The
Match 3 game takes more work and quickness to get through than strategy.
I thought the colors and graphics of the gameboard were more
sophisticated than in the previous Fishdom games. The music in Fishdom 2
is surprisingly good for a match 3 game. Someone really rocks out on a
flute.
One cool thing is that on some levels, you begin the game
with one match that starts a domino cascade of tiles to start falling.
Visually clever.
This game is just fun. Lots of explosions and
great sound effects, the music, the cartoony graphics. If loving Fishdom
is wrong, I don't want to be right.
Favorite
I've played many Match 3
games and I always return to Fishdom. There's something about the
combination of elements in these games that sparkles. I couldn't imagine
what could be done to improve the original Fishdom, but Fishdom 2 does
it. There are added bonus levels in which you search the aquarium for
jewels. The reward for finding all of them is a neat sea creature to add
to your aquarium. Finding them is not taxing, and it's a nice break
from the addicting match 3 play.
All the elements of the original
are there; the satisifying clatter of tiles as they cascade onto the
board, an adorable little goggled avatar to greet you as you enter each
level and the best feature--challenging play without inordinate
frustration. The levels are progressively more difficult and when I got
to the 20s, I began having difficulty completing the puzzles before time
ran out. There is the option of playing untimed however, so the average
player isn't doomed to repeat the same level thousands of times.
The
graphics and puzzles are exceptional and my only quibble is with the
music. It's not upbeat and soothing as in the original; it verges on
distracting and annoying. That could just be my personal taste, and IMO
the addition of the bonus levels balances out the disappointing music. I
still love playing it and think Fishdom 2 is a welcome addition to the
Fishdom collection. I'm not wild about the Hidden Object Fishdom--there
are other, better hidden object games, but the Match 3 Fishdoms are
well, matchless!
Great for my 5 Year Old
My 5 year old son is
beginning to read and I wanted a game that would encourage that. This
game obviously doesn't appear from the outside to enhance reading skills
but in fact it does have some reading required within. Once you
complete some of the little jewel quest type match games you have to do
undersea hunts in which he has to be able to read the words of the
objects he is looking for and then find the item. THis game has really
good graphics and my son now has an aquarium filled with over 1500 fish
and every item imaginable. He plays it twice a week and it is now one of
his favorite games. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a
game for their 5-7 year olds.
