MAGICAL
This was a very entertaining
game. You are a famous master of illusions, the most successful stage
magician in the world. But you have been forced to go into retirement
because someone has been sabotaging your best illusions and tricks. You
suspect it is a rival magician, but you're not sure exactly who it is.
In order to trap the saboteur, you send out invitations to ten other
famous magicians to come to your castle where you are now living in
seclusion. You tell them that you will give all the secrets of your best
illusions and tricks to the magician who is most worthy. So each of
them has to put on a magic show in your castle in order to prove
themselves.
This is really just a ruse to allow you to examine
each of their acts, learn their secrets, and determine which one had the
most motive and opportunity to eliminate you as a rival.
The
visuals are beautiful, very detailed. One by one you explore each of the
various magician's chambers..., from their bedrooms, to their
bathrooms, and finally to their individual stages in the castle where
they have set up their props to perfom their own unique magic shows. The
stage shows are the most fun, where you click on the various magic
props to make the magic show happen, and it's actually a very good
representation of a real magic act..., and then after each magic show
you get to see how the tricks were performed, revealed in The Conjurer's
notebook.
Each magician has a different trademark show that they
put on. From the orient, to the middle-east, to a magic pirate show and
an electricity-wizard.., and more... each magician's stage reflects
thier special brand of magic, and the special effects are wonderful as
you click on the props to make the acts progress.
Slowly you
begin to piece together clues from the various magic acts to figure out
who the most likely suspect is.
This was not a very difficult
game. The hidden obects were fairly easy to spot and the magic shows
were not difficult to operate. The game is entertaining because it is
visually attractive and simply very fun to manipulate the magic.
After
you eliminate each magician as a suspect, you face a puzzle-door that
you have to unlock in order to advance to the next magician. It's a
fairly good puzzle, but there is a button to allow you to "skip" that
puzzle if it's too hard for you to figure out.
I downloaded this
game, and it worked very well on my Windows XP computer. It should have
no problem working on any Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7 computer.
