Customer Reviews

Repetitive but entertaining3 I just finished playing Brunhilda and the Dark Crystal, and here is my take on it: The Positive: - As another reviewer has stated, Brunhilda and the Dark Crystal is a long game, so one gets a lot of game play for the money. - It is also a great game world with wonderful graphics, lots of detail and tons of different scenes - I really cannot even imagine how much time it must have cost to program all these different and highly detailed scenes and dialogues. Kudos for that. I wish all games would pay that much attention to the graphics. - Hints are available throughout although very rarely are they only 'hints'. Most of the time they point right at the object needed but that's ok with me as I don't enjoy too much guesswork to begin with. - The game also provides a magnifier for finding small objects in the background and/or dark parts of the screen which at times is very useful. The thing I wasn't crazy about: The game is extremely repetitive: It is all about finding objects requested by various characters in the story just to be told to now go find other objects, or alternatively using found objects for spells and so forth. There are all in all only three different types of mini games which are repeated at certain points in the game, none are challenging. That said, Brunhilda and the Dark Crystal is still an ok game because finding the objects ties in very well with the storyline and always helps to further Brunhilda's journey. But I must say that at some point a certain fatigue with the game set in, it was just too long with not enough variety in the game play. The long and constant dialogues (both written and narrated) didn't help either - in the end I simply clicked Continue before reading or listening to the end and just checked which objects I needed to find now. All in all I enjoyed it ok, but mostly because of the lovely graphics and not so much for the game itself. pretty good download4 This game was pretty good. It wasn't a quick play. There was humor, the hidden objects were'nt shadowy and impossible to find. The story was good. I liked it and bought it. Thanks Involving, funny, family friendly, satisfying and very good value!5 This "casual" game is a joy! It is hours long, has an enjoyable story, good and involving (some quirky) characters and is far more satisfying than most games I've played. There are 2 game modes, casual and adventure, and mini games to unlock. You can replay any unlocked chapters or mini games and the game always auto-saves when you leave it and I've found it very stable and without any annoying glitches - very smooth play. There is a proper story to this game with some laugh out loud humour very much a part of it and the odd film references here and there. You can skip through the dialogue if you want and still have a long game but you will miss much. The attention to detail is astonishing and this shines through in the hand drawn graphics and sound effects; the music is particularly good in my opinion and changes 'mood' with each chapter. There's also some nice little "Easter eggs" to hunt out too. The variety of hidden objects some small, some large and often challenging to find all relate to the story and, thank goodness, don't include plastic ducks etc.! A very efficient and easy to use magnifier is available should you need or want to use it. I've played this game a few times now and still find that many hidden objects still elude me. As a long time Myst type Adventure gamer I have found this a particularly satisfying game and each time I've played it I find something new in all elements/layers of the game. It really is amazing value.
